چکیده

Stem Cell Research is the most fascinating area of biology today. The discovery of stem cells dates back to 1950’s when various experiments with bone marrow established their identity and their powerful role in regeneration of lost tissues. In the medical field scientists that stem cells offer a viable source of replacement cells to treat diseases like Diabetes, Parkinson’s disease and cardiovascular disease, have hypothesized it. In the field of dentistry, lot of research is underway and cells with characteristics of adult stem cells have been isolated from dental pulp, deciduous tooth and periodontal ligament with the capacity of regeneration. This review highlights the potential role of stem cells in regenerative periodontics.

Tissue Engineered Scaffolds in Regenerative Medicine

Stem cells are self-renewing cells that can be differentiated into other cell types. Conventional in vitro models for studying stem cells differentiation are usually preformed in two-dimensional (2D) cultures. The design of three-dimensional (3D) in vitro models which ideally are supposed to mimic the in vivo stem cells microenvironment is potentially useful for inducing stem cell derived tissu...

Regenerative Potential of Endometrial Stem Cells: A Mini Review

Recent findings in stem cell biology have opened a new window in regenerative medicine. The endometrium possesses mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) called endometrial stem cells (EnSCs) having specific regenerative properties linked to adult stem cells. They contribute in tissue remodeling and engineering and were shown to have immuno-modulating effects. Many clinical trials were undertaken to asce...

Evaluation of the role of mico-RNAs in cardiomyocytes differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells

Stem cells are a good alternative for regenerative medicine because of their characteristics such as self-renewal and differentiation potential. They are classified into different types of stem cells including embryonic stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells, multipotent stem cells, and ultimately uni-potent stem cells. Mesenchymal stem cells extracted from adult tissues. Due to the lack of...

Spermatogonia stem cells: A new pluripotent source for repairment in regenerative medicine

Recently new reports have proved the pluripotency of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) derived from male gonad. This pluripotent stem cells resembled Embryonic stem cells recognized as Embryonic Stem like cells (ES like cells). ES like cells forms sharp edge colonies that are immunopositive to pluripotency markers and have differentiation capacity to Ectodermal, Mesodermal and Endodermal layers....
